In 2019, the city's transport transported 178.8 million tons of cargo 86.6% - road transport, 13.4% - rail transport. Cargo transportation has grown 3 times in 10 years.

NUR-SULTAN - is the LARGEST TRANSPORT HUB, through which the main railways and highways pass.

The city will become a Northern hub connecting all macroregions of the Republic of Kazakhstan through the implementation of projects of the interregional road network: «Center-East», «Center - South», «Center - West».

6 major regions
Russian Federation: Omsk, Novosibirsk, Kypranskaya, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Sverdlovsk region
(15 million people), which can be reached by road within one day;

5 regions
Republic of Kazakhstan: Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Akmola  and  North Kazakhstan region
(4.3 million people), as well as the domestic market domestic market (1.03 million people).

• Within the boundaries of Nur-Sultan city the length of railway tracks is 258,4 km., including the main tracks – 96,6 km. and station tracks – 161,8 км.
• There are 2 railway stations in Nur-Sultan city:

• The average daily passenger flow of the stations in 2018 was  18947 people

2 international road  corridors pass through Nur-Sultan city:

• M36 Border of the Russian Federation   (Yekaterinburg - Chelyabinsk) – Kostanay– Nur-Sultan– Karaganda – Almaty – Border of China;
• The 2042 km long M-36 road is part of the European route E125 (Russia-KazakhstanKyrgyzstan), E016, E123 (Russia-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan) and the Asian route AH60, AH7 (Russia-Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan).
• A1 Border of the Russian Federation  – Petropavlovsk – Nur-Sultan city;
• Auto road of Kazakhstan, with a length of 452 km is part of the European route E125.
