Visa support
Foreign citizens and stateless persons need a visa to enter the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, unless different procedure is established by an international Treaty of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
To obtain a visa, an invitation that is agreed with the relevant state bodies is required, unless otherwise provided by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
An invitation for entry for private affairs is submitted no earlier than 1 year and no later than 5 working days before the intended date of entry of the visa recipient to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The application or note verbale is submitted no earlier than 90 calendar days and no later than 5 working days before the intended date of entry of the visa recipient to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The deadline for consideration of the invitation when providing the service in electronic form is no more than 3 working days and no more than 5 working days-in paper form – from the date of submission of the application.
The inviting party shall submit a note verbale to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MFA RK) with the application of table according the form.
The inviting party for registration of the invitation represents to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MIA RK) or in NJSC GC "Government for citizens" (further-the State Corporation) in the place of the registration:
To issue an invitation to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan for private business:
Recipients - heads and / or deputy heads and/or heads of structural divisions of legal entities engaged in investment activities in Kazakhstan, as well as their family members.
Single - up to 90 days (for the entire visa validity period);
Multiple - up to 3 years (for the entire visa validity period).
A request for issuing an application for an investor visa for persons who are non-residents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and carrying out investment activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan is submitted by the applicant to the State Corporation.
To apply for an investor category visa, it is necessary to submit an application from the authorized investment body, which is the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in accordance with paragraph 7 of Article 282 of the Entrepreneurial Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 29, 2015 No. 375-V ЗРК.
Recipients of category B3:
A business visa of category B3 is issued by foreign agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan without an invitation on the basis of one of the following documents:
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MIA RK) issues a business visa on the basis of an application.
To apply for a multiple-entry visa for a business trip, a copy of the agreement, contract or a confirmation letter (application) of the JSC National Company «Kazakh Invest» for participation in cooperation in the field of industrialization and investment is additionally provided (with the exception of ethnic Kazakhs, former compatriots and citizens from the list of economically developed, politically and migratory stable states, exempted from the need to present invitations at registration).
Business visa is granted on the basis of the following documents:

Recipients of category B1:
Single - up to 90 days (stay in Kazakhstan up to 60 days);
A business visa is issued by foreign agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of one of the following documents:
Recipients of category B2:
Single - up to 90 days (stay in Kazakhstan up to 30 days);
Multiple - up to 180 days (stay in Kazakhstan up to 90 days).
Recipients of category C3:
Single - up to 90 days (for the entire visa validity period);
Multiple - up to 3 years * (for the entire visa validity period).
* To participants and bodies of the International Financial Center «Astana», employees of participants of «Astana Hub» or employees of «Astana Hub» – no more than 5 years) or for the duration of the permit.
A visa is issued by foreign agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of an invitation, as well as by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of an application from the inviting party, in the presence of:
Recipients of category C4:
Single - up to 90 days (for the entire visa validity period);
Multiple - up to 3 years (for the entire visa validity period).
A single entry visa is issued by foreign agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of the following documents:

Recipients of category C5:
Single - up to 90 days (for the entire visa validity period);
Multiple - up to 2 years * (for the entire visa validity period).
*Ethnic Kazakhs - up to 3 years.
A visa is issued by foreign agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of an invitation, in the presence of:
Visa recipient must be of legal age.
Recipients of category C6:
Single - up to 90 days (for the entire visa validity period);
Multiple - up to 1 year, but no more than the validity of the permit (for the entire visa validity period).
A visa is issued by foreign agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of an invitation if there is a permit issued to the employer to attract foreign labour.

E-Visa (business, tourist and medical treatment) is issued based on a valid invitation from the Kazakh side, considered by the migration service units of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the established procedure.
Foreign citizens can enter/leave the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan using a valid electronic visa only through the checkpoints of the international airports of cities Nur-Sultan and Almaty. E-Visa is valid only for the visa recipient and does not apply to accompanying persons.

Registration of foreign citizens
From January 10, 2020, registration of foreigners and notification of the arrival of foreigners in Kazakhstan are assigned to the receiving party.
The receiving party must inform the migration office about the arrival of a foreign guest within three working days from the moment of entry into the country.
To do this it is necessary to use the visa and migration portal www.vmp.gov.kz and:
- fill in information about the foreigner and, if necessary, about their children;
- sign a completed application form using electronic signature;
- get a ready document that will be stored in personal account after 15 minutes.
If a foreign citizen stays on the territory of Kazakhstan for more than 30 days, the receiving party (hotels, hostels, rental apartments, medical institutions, and other legal entities and individuals) must issue a temporary residence permit to the guest.
Immigrants who are exempted from passport registration:
When immigrant changes temporary place of residence in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the host person shall notify the internal affairs bodies within three working days.
In case of change permanent or temporary residence, immigrants within five calendar days shall be re-registered in the internal affairs bodies at new place of residence.
